He's struggling with a wrist injury. Bandaged up, went down in first half with it, and down again just now. Seems in pain with it. But he soldiers on...
In some ways it’s great that our players do well when on loan with other teams. On the other hand you just hope we don’t ruin them when they come back to us. Would love to see a number of the academy prospects establish themselves as successful Barnsley players next year.
Got to say, I like how Oldham are set up here. Much like Val's season (not long ball) but, not so much as controlling all possession, but press like buggery, and ruthless when in possession York just don't know how to deal with it. And they finished 2nd on 90 odd points. Way in front of Oldham Micky Mellon eh.. not a bad manager is he?
I would have liked to have seen this as I live so close but the match was sold out. I know it’s on DAZN but they want. £14.99 for a weekly pass and I’m not that bothered. There will be a ten minutes highlights package on YouTube tomorrow morning.
Just gone off to a rousing standing ovation. 14 minutes left, and he's been all over the pitch. Not been on the ball consistently, but his off the ball movement and positioning has been vital to how this game has panned out. His energy levels must be through the roof to cover the ground he has tonight. Well played young lad. Norwood just coming on now
The absurdity of these playoffs: York finished 23 points ahead of Oldham yet are going to end their season with a whimper. In the other semi final Forest Green finished 15 points ahead of their opponents, Southend, yet could lose out tomorrow as well.
I don't think the stats are accurate at this level tbh But anyways. Co commentator praising Vimal, saying how we will be excited as to what he can bring to us next season in league 1 with the impact he's had at Oldham. High praise indeed
Yes you’re probably right about the stats seeing as I just heard that Ollie Pearce had a free kick off target. I’ve not heard the whole match but it seems that City just didn’t turn up. Terrible performance and missed out on Wembley. Might have been a different story at the old ground. They did beat Arsenal at Bootham Crescent!
May be a bit of both tbh York didn't look like a team that was 90 points to the good. Equally, can't take away from Oldham how they pressed and harried throughout he game. I've not seen either team through the season, but on tonight's showing, Oldham thoroughly deserved it tbh
It's long overdue having two coming up automatically and one through the play offs like other leagues.
