Not being mentioned on any news outlets but, must be 6 weeks since it rained here & April was as dry as I can ever remember. Global warming or an anomaly?

I nearly snapped my thumb getting my tee in the ground last week.
A golf course that was waterlogged last Spring with many out-of-bounds areas, temp tees etc has been dry as a bone since early April this time around

We had a few drops this morning which lasted 15 minutes at the most.

It feels like Spring 2020 when Covid first hit & it didn’t rain for what felt like 3 months.

I always said that Government got away with one.
People able to sit outside their house or go for their 1 hour of exercise.
If raining, I'd dread to think what may have happened.
I volunteered delivering prescription from March to June, a warm 14 weeks

Lawns and bowling greens were as dry as a bone, we seem to have dry spells and very wet spells

If we have a summer heatwave I wouldn't be surprised if the taps run dry. Expect standpipes and water bowsers. Might have to turn Ai off, cos using that uses water by the swimming pool full for some reason.

Our course cut thin slits into the fairways on a couple of holes and filled them with small pieces of gravel to help with drainage as they were so wet over the past few years. Those 5mm slits are now nearly as wide as golf balls in some places and look about a foot deep. Been great weather for a round though.

I had an email from Yorkshire Water saying it was driest start of the year since 1950s. Reservoirs at 66% of capacity rather average 88%.

Don’t worry. I was planning to go up to Headingley on Saturday/Sunday, but it’s supposed to be raining all weekend. But not to worry, I’m sure the weather will be better the next County Championship game at Headingley, which starts at the end of September…

If only they had invested into new reservoirs instead of shareholders pockets.

AI runs on massive servers which generate a lot of heat. They are cooled by massive air conditioning systems. So they are enormous consumers of electrical power. I've never heard about them using water though.

Haven't had any rain at all where we live in Lincolnshire for about 2 months.
The once boggy footpaths and fields are now like concrete.

It’s the driest spring I can remember. Our cricket ground is dry as a bone which is making the outfield lightning fast, even I’ve hit a few fours this year! The grass is already dying which doesn’t bode well for when we get to the back end of the summer.

Heavy rain forecast overnight which will hopefully help.
