Just seen this, someone not happy with the installation, had already raised concerns about views being blocked in OR1 from the disabled stand prior to installation, now its obviously allowed. Local MP offering to get involved. https://x.com/TeamLouieGeorge/status/1925527737638236609?s=19
Considering all the supposed planning that went into this and concerns raised prior, you wonder why we self destruct so often.
Blame John Dennis, that disabled stand is in the worst possible position in the stadium, a new one should be built. I've been in it a few times and the view is shocking and that's before the safe standing was put in - l did wonder how bad it would be once it was put in.
The club know. They were aware before it was built. They were told by the fab of their concerns. They ignored them and did what they wanted. They've since been contacted by the fab/trust again and I believe gally said the club are wasting more money again having to remove it from the front area to rectify their **** up. I hope it's coming out of the directors salaries.
Hehe, Neerav incoming about losses and Flatman talking about switching light on. What about removing barriers you knobheads
My god, so we chose to ignore an issue and proceeded, I give up if this is true, not doubting you btw
On behalf of the FAB, if anyone has the contact details for Louie's parents, please PM me with them ASAP and I can then fwd on to the Club. Thank you.
It depends who is lying. The FAB members on this board have previously assured me that the club would not be going all the way to the front as they know it would block sightlines. However as with many things in the fab group I'm finding that the minutes of the meetings don't reflect what we are told has been said in the meetings. For example here is what the minutes said about safe standing before it was installed That is clearly saying that the fab group knew and gave the ok for it going all the way to the front yet at least 3 fab group members on here denied knowing that. Are they all liars or are the minutes released by the club months after the meetings take place a false account of what is discussed in the meetings? Actually we know the minutes are a false account don't we? As it's on record that a fab member believes there is a mole in the group who has leaked the confidential topics that they had discussed at meetings. As there is no mention of these confidential topics then how are the minutes a full and accurate reflection of the minutes?
For information, this issue was raised by the FAB at the last meeting and it has been minuted, with minutes to be approved at the next meeting on 12th June. Item 7 on Minutes: Visibility from the disabled stand; The club are going to review the view from the disabled stand during the close season. There is room to move supporters around in that area. The club are also looking at the possibility of adding more accessible bays in EL1."
Jodie is a wonderful lady and she and her little boy have had to struggle against the odds time and time again. Some might recall the bits and pieces we did with the family over the years. The fact they’re both here is amazing, never mind getting to Oakwell. Awesome family and it was always a pleasure to throw the spotlight onto their struggle, to help raise awareness and money for the charity. So it must be legitimately bad, for Jodie to be complaining. I’ve never heard her have a bad word for BFC. And looking at those photos, that is horrendous. I appreciate it’ll have been bad even prior to the rail seating, with folk always stood up. But to then install that there anyway, well, I am lost for words. I didn’t realise it went that far down. I hope this is resolved, and on a wider note, you’d like to think they stop selling tickets that block the view of the disabled fans. It’s not like there aren’t 10,000 other spare seats.
Despite all the he said, she said FAB/Club stuff, how the hell has an actual human being in the initial process missed something so glaringly obvious, a simple walk of the area would have flagged this up.
There needs to be a much better system than this. Fans are left in the dark for a month (or two, or three) while minutes are written up, approved and then published but in the meantime people just don't know whether their question has been answered or their issue dealt with. I'm not sure what the solution is other than an actual support ticket based system where the person raising an issue gets a message back
