Watched him regularly for Scarborough. Some decent players at the club - they're playing in Brid next season due to some damages, totalled to about 3 million quid apparently :(

Scarborough being messed around again. There is enough land that way for a proper ground to be built, where they could host concerts like the Open Air Theatre do. The potential of that club is big. Thousands of new houses have been built that way for years. Middle Deepdale being one example where loads of houses got built and all the infrastructure. From all the house building the population will fly up in the next 10-20 years and the current ground won't be anything like big enough. They already get sell out games.

Charlie Winfield was another ex academy player released by Worksop now signed for BPA. I am sure there are many more examples of young lads we train up and then play non league.

I work with his step dad, this has been happening for a while, he lives in anston so worksop makes sense, paying him the same minus bonuses and far less travel time. By all accounts scarborough were gutted he was leaving. Both teams in the same league now

A sad fact of life for those in the game. 1000s of ex academy players over the yrs. End up playing non league.

I reckon that goes for the majority of clubs in the football league to be fair. We do have a fair share of players who have been part of our academy at one time or another knocking about the leagues too though. Stones, Holgate, Jordan Clarke, Danny Rose, George Maris, Rhys Oates, Scott Flinders, Jason Sraha, Jasper Moon, Will Smith, just off the top of my head.

Yeah, plenty have played for Scarborough too. Dom Tear and Luca Colville have been excellent for them this season, I've really liked the look of Colville over past couple of years and surprised he isn't playing alot further up the pyramid.
