I'm convinced there's a section of people who want us to have low ST sales. I'll never be able to get my head round that.
It’s because they’ve been banging on about how the sky is falling for the last 6 months and how nobody will renew unless the board resigns or whatever they want to happen and if after all that there’s a similar number to last year they’ll look a bit silly won’t they…
To put some context in season ticket sales. 8000 equates to about £2m gross and £1.65m nett of vat. Selling 8000 season tickets covers 2 months of losses. The club only exists in current state due to cash injections from the owners.
Contrary to the negative narrative, I’ve heard from a few lapsed season ticket holders that they’re coming back next season on the back of Conor’s positivity and new broom approach.
It'd be interesting to know how many have bought the flexi ticket. (Although I think its slightly overpriced. Shouldn't be the percentage reduction, as a season ticket though) Those will not reflect on the available seats as I believe the seats are not guaranteed to be the same ones. Only able to choose an available seat when selecting a game. I personally don't know of anyone gone down that route.
Bit weird why would I want club to fail ? What I want is for them to acknowledge they are making a bo hollocks of the job starting by getting rid of the sporting director.
With the blue to white dot ratio I’m going East stand, sold 2500, Ponty sold 2000, West stand sold 500 so roughly 5000 still a long way off 8600
Absolutely. Ticket sales haven’t been the main income stream for most clubs for years. Hence why a lot of Stadium Developments have stalled over the years. Only more recently have clubs started to invest in stadia extensions again - Everton, City, Chelsea eventually looking to start and Arsenal possibly increasing. Folk often forget about the VAT element too.
I remember the year i didn't renew people were talking about only 5k sales. Obviously that never happened and for every one not renewed we have to remember new sales. As I said higher up this is year 4 more without coming up and I've completely fallen out of love with football. However I still watch our games and go to about 5 or 6 away trips a season. Despite all my apathy i always want to see my home town club succeed. Once a red always red, regardless of if I attend every week or not.
The way some people pull the club/owners and the stadium down at the first opportunity they are certainly not Barnsley supporters.
You don’t have to guess, I literally counted the dots and got to just over 7,000. That’s after removing the north end of the west stand, the first 2 rows of the ponty, The northernmost block of the east stand and the block in the middle of the east upper.
