Is that a throne in the regal sense, or a throne in Barnsley parlance, for when things go south on the pitch?
You didn’t but you also said you didn’t think Sormaz jettisoned the head coach, do you really think that, personally think you a bit naive if you dont think Sormaz helped get rid or “jettisoned as you say” the head coach pal.
Have you been on the pop already? Mladen Sormaz, as Sporting Director, forms part of the board of directors at BFC and will play a key role in first team decision making. I’m sure he shared his opinion when the board called a meeting to discuss the futures of messrs Collins and Clarke. I imagine nobody on the board has a closer working relationship with the head coach. So you’d like to think his opinion holds a lot of weight. I’ve not debated any of that. I endorse the idea that he’s a key player and massively responsible. But the post that I replied to was insinuating that Sormaz has “form” for “jettisoning” coaches. Hence my pointing out that decisions such as that are made at board level, not by Sormaz. I’m done on that subject now. I fancy some pop myself.
Yeah and your not the only one to have been saying this lol. But remember, nobody is out there, nobody wants to buy a club like this!. So we're stuck with them.
The two things are not mutually exclusive are they? The decision is made at board level but the sporting director can easily produce a lot of waffle and misleading statistics to show an incompetent boardroom that someone else is a failure not him "Look me Neerav sir. Jonathan Lewis scored for his national team. The fact he can't score in league one is clearly the managers fault. I did a fantastic job bringing in a striker of his quality didn't I Mr Neerav. And Max watters has the highest xG in the world. This proves what an amazing player he is and that's why i didn't bring any more strikers in because the squad is already so good up front. What's xg Mr Neerav? Ohhh it's this really complicated stat that you only someone as intelligent as you would understand. A high xG means he's getting more chances than anyone else. No don't be silly me Neerav, getting lots of easy chances and failing to score isn't a bad thing. It's a good thing, I'm sure someone as intelligent as you can understand that can't you. Oh you do understand now and you agree? I thought so Mr Neerav because of how intelligent you are. See what I mean though mr Neerav. The statistics which you are soooo clever for understanding and agreeing with me show that I am doing an amazing job and the manager is the problem not me. This is why you should fire him" Of course it's a board decision but I absolutely firmly believe in a situation where a club has an incompetent and utterly clueless board of directors consisting of people all wealthy due to their family members rather than anything they've done themselves that an equally incompetent but slimy and deceitful sporting director could and would pull the wool over their eyes and the rug out from under a manager's feet to save his job. Hypocritically of course
Transfer window has been open 4 days. Technically 5 now it's past midnight. There will be plenty of movement towards back end, like there is for majority of other non-elite clubs mate. Nothing to worry about yet.
It isn't just their fault though, is it? I said when Conman & Lee left, we will still be feeling the affect of those two, 5 years down the line. You know more than most on here just how many clubs are in financial ruin. People wanted rid of the 'spreadsheet', unfortunately this was the alternative. If you/whoever truly want the board to be self sustainable, would you all be willing to be relegated again? There's no easy way out.
