Unless it’s changed, if it’s sunny at Headingley you bat. Even if you’re not very good, you still bat. This brain dead management caucus are well beyond their shelf life.
Apparently stats have changed to the effect that the first session has yielded more wickets than any other session more recently. Anyway I agree that everything looked right to bat first
Who thought "Let's toil in a heatwave instead of sitting in the shade watching our batters plunder runs for fun"?
3 centuries and 3 ducks so far. India have now last their last 5 wickets for just 28 runs after being 430-3.
Five hundred isn’t par once it starts getting cloudier, damper, heavier air and swinging both ways. Putting them in is very much as head scratching as Nasser’s decision down under all those years ago. I know he likes to chase and bat fourth but we are behind the eight ball by a long way. Still looking forward to a good day out tomorrow. Had a really, really **** week (family bereavement), so tomorrow should be a tonic for me, my son and my step dad.
But when they won the toss the forecast was for 5 days of pure sunshine. I know it can be temperamental and if it was me I'd have batted but you can see why they didn't.
A lot of pundits, with a lot more cricket knowledge than you or I, could understand Stokes' decision. Nasser, however, was the only person on earth who understood his decision in Brisbain....
Anyone there today/yesterday? It has been some years since I’ve been to headingley for a test match - are the concessions all card only? Cash only any of them? Do I need cash or is just the phone fine?
