Exactly why I am not taking the Naproxan i was prescribed. Regretting wasting money taking the prescription to the chemist - I knew I wouldn't take them.

Yep they aren't great I was exactly the same, I took a few at the height of my pain to help sleep and that was is, but the extracorporeal shockwave therapy did the job, I believe they are looking at using it more and more as the results are fantastic, it's a little uncomfortable as they pass electro sound wave through your foot but worth being pain free and able to walk distances

I am not a fan of crocs aesthetically but might have to take a look for inside the house.

Is that something that was arranged through your doctor or from a physio?

Yes so when I'd reached the end of the line in terms of self help e.g pain killers, exercises and shoe inserts all with no real improvement I was referred to podiatry, went there had a chat they had a look and watched me walk etc and said right we are going to book you in for a course of extracorporeal shockwave therapy in about 4 weeks time, couldn't take any anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen etc 2 weeks before as this process is design to inflame the plantar muscle to start the healing process, they then do the sessions once a week for 3/4 weeks, can't recommend it enough mate absolute game changer.

Yep. I was afflicted a couple of years ago. Saw a podiatrist who arranged shoe implants and prescribed Crocs (I didn't even know what what they were). The pain disappeared after a fortnight.

Am wearing said Crocs as I now type. With implants in. Still pain free.

They are brilliant mate, can see why NHS staff in hospitals wear them.

I’d say Crocs flip-flops or slippers are definitely not what you need. Anything that lets the arch of your foot drop is part of the problem. You’d be better off with a pair of indoor trainers.

Crocs are prescribed for plantar mate, hence big uptake in wearing them on hard floors in hospitals

Undoubtedly they feel more comfortable due to the sponginess. The podiatrist I saw said they don’t give enough stability or arch support and to avoid them.
Have to admit I wear sliders at times but they’re not good for the arch.

I developed chronic plantar through running, contacted a foot specialist as other runners recommended them and they said first thing they would tell me to do would be to go a specialist running shop and have my gait analysed.
I did this and they put me into a different pair of trainers and it healed up within a week or so. I would add that I also swapped my hard work shoes for my made redundant running shoes.
There are as others said lots of exercises out there which help manage it but I would definitely recommend getting your footwear checked out first.
