The one that always makes me laugh is "people are fed up and want a change". I understand and appreciate that. Regularly, Starmer shows himself to be an out of touch, middle class liar. But then they turn to Farrage, another rich white man, who's on record as being an even bigger liar, and has a 'political party' which doesn't have any credible policy on anything other than immigration. How is that going to change the country?
I think if we elected a reform government you would see a massive change in the country. Not a good one obviously but a change.

Given (if all goes to plan) we're due to move houses soon to a new area, we've joined nextdoor and getting a feel for things. Sadly, like others after the local elections, the area we're moving to will have a Reform Council. I thought it worth posting this given I seem to see various tenets of "they're all the same" and "they're on the side of working people." Since they gained power, the councillors have refused to take the required training courses that require them to understand committees and literally, how the council operates its budgets and day to day. Instead of meetings and committees, they are plugging into Reform Limiteds central headquarters to be told what to do. Committee meetings (all of them) have been cancelled for the next three months. Their intention is to create an external "doge style" unit, requesting access to all records for scrutiny, which I suspect is neither legal nor possible. No doubt they'll kick up a stink they can't do this and start to blame the usual suspects to whip up more hatred and fervour. So just think the impact this will have on your every day life. Roads, buildings, cleaning, parks, budgets, planning, parking. All being thrown into possible chaos for 3 months on the whim of Reform HQ. That doesn't seem to serve local people in the slightest.
I don't think he's lying about his plans for the NHS though unfortunately. USA style health 'care' here we come!

As we saw with Brexit, there are some people who will gladly make political voting choices that won't benefit themselves but harm many just through sheer bloody mindedness. They'll vote Farage because of the dog whistles they pretend they don't hear and ignore the privatisation of the NHS, ignore the tax breaks for rich cronies just in the hope we have less 'muslamic infidels' (sic) in the country.
