Apparently it's Alfie Chang we are after from Birmingham not Wright.

Some talk of a possible move for Samson Tovide too from Colchester

 

More chance of Samson from Emmerdale.

 

Chang was very highly-rated a few years ago, but suffered a horrific knee injury that saw him miss a year or so.

Tovide too, very highly-rated. I know some will scoff at that, looking at his numbers, but he's had lots of interest in the last couple of windows. I'd be surprised (pleasantly) if we were able to bring him in.

Aye, this is what Danny Cowley said about Tovide in February.

"I can't tell you the number of calls I took on Samson in particular in this window; pretty much all the Championship clubs phoned, a lot of the top of League One also (clubs in) Belgium, Portugal and Spain."

 

Wishful thinking or for definite ?

 

I think that Samson Tovide is pretty much the type of forward we need. If we are going to play three up top with two wingers, we need another Carlton Morris/James Norwood to do all the physical stuff, hold the ball up and link in with the wide players and midfield. Having watched highlights, I would think that we wouldn't do much better than Tovide - he's a big, physical centre forward, whose goalscoring improved last season. He risks being another Kayode Odejayi, but I think that he would come good with us. This style of player would be one of my top requirements, the other being the strong central defender we need. No more midfielders, otherwise we might as well reappoint Spackman.

 

I agree.

He has also played as a right winger before so could play him there and keep DKD up front if needed.

 

Watching his highlights, he reminds me of Oli McBurnie. Strong, quick and good with his feet. Albeit at league 2 level.

 

I hope this link works. It's the best I could find and shows the attributes of Tovide, but against a poor Swindon Town team. I have not been able to copy the link, but have a look at Colchester United v Swindon Town on you tube. Worth a look to see Tovide's qualities.

Just posting a rumour from X, so probably not true

 

Where’s the Tovide link come from? Not seen anything anywhere.

 

A few people on X talking about it. Including Callum Fowler the lad who does YouTube stuff about us and has some contacts in club apparently

 

Same lad who said Sonny Bradley and Jed Steer were set to sign. Clearly unreliable.

 

He claims it was a different source that told him those but yeah, it could be total rubbish

 

Callum fowler seems decent enough lad, but all about the traffic, would take it all with a pinch of salt, lots of guess work, silly season in full flow now.

 

I do, and he's right. He could probably play at championship level.
Look at their fan posts too. They're all gutted that he's even being linked away from them.
