I’ve still never seen a Barnsley player look as unnatural on a football pitch as Oulare did that time he got off the bench. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was something dodgy about that deal. It was like watching a celebrity come on at soccer aid.
Hope he gets what’s coming to him. Bloke has put our club back years with the signing of the two Belgians. KV Oostend fans have a lot more to dislike him for than us though. He managed to shut their club down…..it could’ve been us.
Oulare is available as a free agent. I hope he's not part of Mladen's master plan that Biddy37 is spunking over.
This article has made my day. I haven't forgotten the £750k payment to fund the purchase that he effectively allowed to be paid from club funds, and then refused to answer any questions regarding this. This comment from his wife, who I have sympathy for, as she's impacted by this too, feels a bit misguided, as it implies that only people with previous criminal records commit crimes. If he's as innocent as she implies, then he should have no problem with being extradited to Belgium to answer the charges. He's spent 5 weeks in prison in Spain because he's resisting this.
There is clearly a connection between RWD Molenbeek and Conway. Oulare was supposedly loaned to them despite the fact that there would be no demand for him. Oddly enough the player signed from Nancy, Biron, for €5m by Oostende was sold to RWD Molenbeek for €2.5m I would wager that Conway and fellow American John Textor have had a close working relationship.
She as had a good crack out of his dealings . She can't complain. BFC should be asking conman a few more questions. That bloke as put us back 20 years. Don't be too hard on the current board . There trying their best to put things right. Be careful what you wish for .
I agree with you to some degree. Conway... well, I won't say exactly what I think of him until it's officially proven, or not. His activities did a large amount of damage. Though we were very close to promotion to the Premier League under their tenure. I'm not sure how, but we were. Some of their decisions have overhung into Parekhs reign, but it has to be said, several decisions Parekh and his new board have made have exacerbated the situation we find ourselves in. His hubris has cost us a lot of money. Granted, which he's still subsidising, but it's putting us in a very difficult position. Conway and Lee may have started the rot, but Parekh has well and truly ensured things have declined further.
But that doesn't excuse their absolute incompetence though, which this lot have shown. Whether they are nice people and have the best intentions etc, I'm afraid that's absolutely no excuse.
Well who do you want instead . It could be a lot worse at BFC than it is. They are not queuing up to buy us tha nose .
Yeah so we keep getting told. I understand all the warnings about be careful what you wish for, and just how bad Conway and Lee were etc. But it doesn't change a thing about what I posted above, about them.
The initial new board comprised not just Conway and Lee but also our current chairman who had invested believing the Conway story of data and endless riches. Admittedly Neerav was in the minority at the out set and was not a controlling party. Once he did take control after the proxy position of Conway was exposed there is one marked difference between the operating approach. Conway/Lee money in -£750k Neerav £18m. He may have made some awful decisions but he, along with his other shareholding directors, have funded their mistakes. Hopefully they are learning and continue to fund the annual shortfalls.
Just saw this on X "He and Pacific Media Group almost caused my club in Denmark to go bankrupt. He promised 20 million Danish kroner when the club was in serious financial trouble but never delivered. Fortunately, thanks to a strong group of local business people, bankruptcy was avoided." Without Neerav that could have been us, yes he's made plenty of mistakes and his decision making can be questioned but he clearly has good intentions and is putting in a lot of money to try and take the club forwards. I really don't think as fans we appreciate him enough and I hold my hands up and include myself in that. As for Conway and Lee, they can f*** off.
