What are the most 'typical Barnsley' moments in the clubs history? I'm thinking the Oli McBurnie Fax machine incident. Or the transfer offer sent to the St Mirren supporters group. Or Emmanuel Frimpong.
Non of these are typical Barnsley moments for me until now. Most popular one is "conceding in the last minute"
What was the St Mirren one? Who were they after? Only player I can think of in recent years was Stevie Mallan?
Yeah the last minute, which was about 10 minutes of stoppage time. And that was unheard of in those days.
And then in the Social Club afterwards they had a Wednesday supporting comedian taking the mick!..... I think he lasted ten minutes, if that!
Who was it, Michael Vaughan ?. The last day of season '90-1, against Middlesbrough, when Taggart and co were popping the champagne.
Got to be worst ever, nothing else compares, I was in west stand lower as players were celebrating above in directors seats!.....r8 come darn when scores came through lol
Aye! Celebrating on the pitch in front of 'boro fans who had already secured a play off spot ...ffs reds!........sithi.
My abiding memory of the 90/91 debacle was looking up at the director's box when players came out and seeing Brendan's face, I knew then that what we'd been told wasn't reality.
