I get mine from the Bombay Sweet Centre in Nottingham, but I have absolutely no doubt that anything from Leeds will be just as good. Will make a point of going there next time I'm in the area. Just had interviews for a couple of jobs in Leeds, so I'll have a pretty good excuse to try it if I'm successful.
No idea whose pies they were but was at a Hyde United game in the middle of winter and the local bakery delivered the pies fresh from the ovens at 7.30. Meat and tattie pie went down a treat as it was about -3 that night with the game only on as they had a plastic pitch back in the day
My Dad does a new year's Eve pie. Meet and potato with pastry top. Does it with home made mushy peas freshly steeped with ham in them and gravy. Shouldn't eat before bed but soaks up the booze well and makes nice left overs. He does extra pastry too.
