Tory Boy Starmer wins through on the back of the disabled

Personally, I view it as she's about to create a new cesspit, very much as the Corbyn-led Labour Party became. This is assuming that Jezza actually agrees that he's starting this party with her, which he's reportedly not actually agreed to as yet. I'd welcome a few more opting to jump ship with her too, such as McDonnell, Abbott and Burgon. If it gets off the ground it will be more of a threat to Green party votes, than to Labour, as the vast majority of voters aligned with their particular politics have already jumped ship in terms of voting for Labour under Starmer.

 

It really doesn’t matter which left wing party gets the votes. Those people won’t be voting Labour. And that’s the point.

 

They are as bad as Reform in my opinion... trying to sell something to the electorate that is completely unsustainable.

 

Interestingly perhaps, former Suffragettes were the backbone of the Women's wing of Mosley's British Union of Fascists.

 

Which they're free to do. Everyone gets to choose which box the X gets placed. Labour's issue is that they need to not alienate their core voter base, and the Welfare Bill has caused damage in that regard.

Politically, it's an irrelevance to their prospects if those who aren't voting for them, and who aren't ever voting for the Tories or Reform, choose to vote for the Greens or the Peace & Justice Project, or whatever Corbyn grift this new party gets named.

 

Labour has left them not the other way round.

We need a party for the left.

 

I don’t know how anyone can claim Labour under Corbyn was a cesspit given what it is now.

I didn’t but I think most on the left gave Labour a chance in the last election but that won’t happen next time round.

 

There seems to be a lot of obsession with what might happen at the next election. When you look at how much has happened since 2020 it's a brave person who would predict how things will look at the next GE. Thankfully, Labour have another four years to try and improve things. It was never going to be a one-year project.

 

Tory government led by Boris Johnson or Nigel Farage (who is a disillusioned Tory that would drop Reform like a sack of spuds given the chance).

 

I think Boris is the likelier (22/1 with Star Sports to be next prime minister).

A party that will implement a new workers rights bill while raising wages or one that will put record investment into the NHS and social housing?

Or one that will put climate change at the top of its agenda creating jobs and clean secure energy?

I wouldn’t know. I haven’t seen that it’s been launched, never mind had the opportunity to assess it etc.

I found my home with the Greens regardless.
