The Mondays unique sound was instrumental in factory and the hacienda and arguably another genre that followed, but Sadly last time I watched them they were dire, James without a doubt best live act, they were never mainstream "Madchester" but still refuse to become a tribute band in the words of Tim Booth, there staple diet has and will always be live, 43 years and better than ever a number 1 album last year too, them and Suede have stood the test of time and matured like a fine wine.
The clips from the Cardiff gig looked absolutely immense, far better than I expected. Whether they'll still be sounding that good in a couple of months time after 30 odd gigs, a gruelling tour schedule in the USA and no doubt several fallings out is anyone's guess!
100% agree, seen James 20 times in last 4-5 years, just keep getting better, last time was LLangollen last week, awesome, as for Stone Roses, totally brilliant on record, live, only saw them at Spike Island and that was not the best, as for HM.....crap beyond belief nowadays
The Llangollen gig looked amazing, I did Piece Hall first night, I'm around 20 gigs too ha ha Nice to chat with a fellow Daisy, agree on Roses they were special the 3/4 year carry on with the record label really stopped them in their prime. Still love the second coming though I know it's a bit marmite and obviously compared to the first it's difficult to get near but as a stand alone it's a good record.
Former Inspiral carpets frontman Tom hingley and his band " the karpets" are playing Staincross club Fri 8th August for anyone interested' supported by wakefield indie covers band " the cheats"...
Jonathan Ross special guests : Oasis is well worth another watch on ITVx. It’s snippets of past appearances by the brothers over the years.
What a bizarre thing to say. Do you honestly think hes bothered about the money? The royalties from the songs make the tour look like small change. Idiot.
I've seen a few videos and photos, he just doesn't look right whatsoever, he's got a very uncomfortable look about it all, maybe I'm mistaken.
Isn't it time for you to pop off to the city Forum Mr Plastic fan. Imagine just waking up one day and thinking "I'm just going to start supporting another team because they are winning" and pretend you are their biggest fan.
Yes. He's always had royalties. The difference now is after his divorce his bank account is a few tens of millions down and this tour will make that back and then some.
I think Noel looks perfectly fine. He just loves playing. He’s always said he’d keep playing even if the high flying birds struggled & it was in tiny venues. There’s clips of him yesterday stood in one of the gangways watching Richard Ashcroft play. He’s not giving me any signs that he wants to be elsewhere.
Its not the fuc.kn'g Blues Brothers ffs he's just agreed to get the band together to pay his missus off for fu.k sake he's got his band back together because millions of the world's population have been waiting 16 years for it to happen.
