I just hope Brook and Smith can regroup and smash a few in the afternoon session. Been a great effort thus far but it will count for nothing if they get out with only Woakes left that can hold a bat.

You can't be too critical at a 170/2 session.

When you're that far behind it's nothing more than an entertaining counterpunch.

Know what you mean but it’s good to watch test batting at 5+ an over…. C’mon England

Stolen from Cric Info text commentary, but an excellent stat......

Just the 3rd time in history that we have two double century partnerships for wickets 6 or lower in a Test. Last happened in a test between India and Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad in 2009. And in a test between West Indies and Australia at Bridgetown in 1955.

It’s another high scoring record broken ( or matched ) involving free scoring England … there’ll be more

Brilliant partnership and Smith looks a real find - but this just shows how flat the pitch actually is and how poor the wickets (with the exception of stokes) have been.

Has to be an argument to promote Smith to six above Stokes on current form.

20/5. What a collapse to lose half or team for less than two dozen runs.

After Brook went nobody wanted to hang around to help Smith.

Brook and smith did very well then lost 5 wickets for 20 in 43 balls.

Conditions have changed, new ball, moved the game on nicely….batting on for parity would have edged it towards a draw, despite the obvious high chance of losing it has also improved the chances of an England win now

Bit like India last test. Brilliant from Smith, shame no one was there to allow him to get his double century.

India have until tea tomorrow to score the 300 they need. They'll have 100 of those tonight if they bat well.

I love reading through these threads.
There's nothing quite like the ebb and flow of Test match cricket.

Cant see us getting 20 wickets in any test in australia. Our bowling attack is poor at best. India just looked dangerous with the ball for an hour. We get ball in hand and dont look dangerous at all yet.

Carse, tongue and woakes all need dropping. Woakes had his day other two not gd enough to get wickets.

They'll be close at this rate. We're already hoping India bat too long.

41 for 0 in 7. We were 24 for 3. At home. These would struggle to bowl out my village cricket team for less than 300
