    It’s one hell of a coincidence that this dates back several years yet he’s finally been charged 3 days after his Arsenal contract ended.

    Seems to have been common knowledge that this was on the cards for a couple of years or so. He kept missing European away games through mystery injuries, when the rumour was he wasn’t allowed to leave the country

    It’s been lingering over him for over a year, away fans have been chanting about it all season.

    I suspect Arsenal played him, as he hadn’t been charged with anything and only accused.

    If they suspended him, then he possibly has recompense against the club. Similar to that Mansfield player who knocked that bloke off his bike and killed him.

    You’d like to think both of them would have been suspended, but, the law says innocent until proven guilty.

    I recall that when he was first arrested, the Met wouldn’t name him but gave out details that basically narrowed it down to two footballers.Partey and Ben Davies was the other I think. If I’d been Davies, I’d have had my solicitor present a statement.

    I’ve not got a clue it just seems too much of a coincidence for it not to be related.

    My only thought is that they deliberately held off charging him in case he was found not guilty as Mendy & Sigurddsson were both suspended once charged & ended up not guilty / no case to answer.

    Not really. More that maybe Arsenal should have suspended him whilst under contract.

    However, they couldn’t legally do that. Same as the Mansfield player.

    Partey was never a nailed on cert. to re-sign for Arsenal anyway, so I’m not sure how much you can draw from the current situ. He’s been heavily linked to France and Spain over the last 6 months.
