£1.2 million will be the price more than likely. They'll have bid something cheeky like £500K, We've said "get this sens rodded", they'll come back with £750K, we'll say it's £1.5M's they'll say £1.2M's and we'll have a deal on deadline day and the money will disappear into a black hole.

Pretty good estimate apart from the "black hole " bit.

You also might have noted how much he was hung out to dry last season, especially with our early formation- watch the games back and see how many times he was alone in the middle of the pitch with 20 years around him in any direction

Again players move on.. And the only ones you can move on, who are still under contract here are those that someone else wants.
All the "we need a clear out to get rid of the dead wood" You are left with.
The price of poor recruitment and long term deals I'm afraid..

We all agree he's not the player we expected him to be and we're all agreed we need to reduce the squad size so owt top side of a million and he's gone. Interesting that the speculation for incoming players doesn't include midfield. So we can only assume we're trying to keep the rest..Phillips is the curious one for me as I really thought he would have gone already..

Phillips might want to go (his body language January onwards would suggest he does) but if no bids match our value he might end up staying. Still got at least 2 years left on his contract I think?

Ye your right, looked like he'd lost interest in January which is a shame as he scores goals and can influence the game but like Humphrys we can't afford players who play when they want. If he can't commit 100% he may as well leave as well, senior players need to drive the young guns on.

Quite right about "moving on" certain players. Some people seem to think it's easy getting rid of poor contracted players, which it clearly isn't. It's the poor recruitment that's the problem. There's obviously been quite a lot of that in recent years. The long-term deals, though, equally obviously, are a very good idea, if you get the recruitment right.

Maybe he lost interest because he lost confidence in the coach and some of his teammates. When he was interested he was a great asset to the team.

More likely, it's someone with a twitter account with 117 followers, with nothing better to do than start a little mischief.

Things have gone a little quiet this morning, hopefully just a wee lull before JK arrives. In the meantime, some irrational reasoning based on dubious sources - very BBS.

According to the Yorkshire Post, via the **ahem** ever reliable Alan Nixon, Huddersfield are eyeing up a move for our favourite defecating footballer and former Red, Brad Potts.

If it materialises, it could firm up Preston’s interest in Adam Phillips - assuming there was any interest in the first place o_O

I'm not sure on that one, Preston played Potts as a right wing back from what I saw.

Maybe we could offer them O'Keeffe ;)
