    I agree. But the problem is its easier said than done. And that's if you have very skilled operators.

    It's going to take time, or further money being written off to encourage people out of the door, either on loan to claw back a tiny bit of their wages, or to agree a settlement to pay them off, but obviously you're using some of your wage budget. Not easy, but it's the mess we've created.

    The problem is - and the thing that is irritating most people I guess, is the total lack of activity! In the past couple of hours Reading and Orient have made significant signings ( both Irish and supposed targets of ours). All we hear is who might be moving away. Yes it’s all a summer rumour mill, but we can’t afford to let anyone leave given the squad as it stands! Then to rub salt into the wounds they announce Plymouth tickets when we haven’t a clue who will be playing ( but of course we do).

    The max squad size is set by the Efl and its 22 so how l9w would you want us to go?
    Whats more important is the balance of the squad in terms of position, age, experience, mix of skill sets etc
    I with DWLC , its time this madness was culled.

    Yes and it's all down to incompetence at Boardroom level. I'll just wait for the pile on from the we wouldn't have a club without them and they've put millions in brigade. Who all fail to or don't want to see that the owners are the ones responsible for the mess that means they have to put millions in yet the club gets worse year on year.

    I’d imagine our budget this season may well be bottom 8. Competitive says Mladen….but only with about a third of the teams in the league.

    We had a bid of 1 million pounds accepted by Ipswich for El Mizouni last summer but Oxford nipped in and signed him .Thats how football is ,you win some you lose some.

    Think the point the OP is making is that we are now a long way behind the likes of Leyton Orient.
    No good dressing it up, we’re in a state. Skint and unable to compete with two thirds of L1.

    Clubs like Stockport , Wycombe and L.Orient have overtaken us even in my eyes they are much smaller clubs than us , it’s frustrating.

    Actually no, heard from someone that the deal had been just about done but is now off.

    But I don’t think the source is any more reliable than Luca, possibly less so, hence the question.
