My annual eye test appointment tomorrow. I have to say that I am very down about this off-season so far, which is unlike me, as I try to be positive. I will hand back my rose-tinted spectacles to the optician tomorrow, as I no longer trust them.
If we struggle through the league season then I wonder if Hourihane will be given the same level of scrutiny his two predecessors were (and lose his job) or will people give him a free ride.
I think there’s a general acknowledgement that there are broader issues than simply the manager. So long as Conor does his job well there’s still plenty of goodwill. I think.
Here's a list of our pre-season friendlies Here's how to buy tickets, come on down, pay some money and cheer the lads on But we're not actually going to select any of our players in these friendlies, they're playing in games behind closed doors. I'm sorry Barnsley FC, but you're a set of f***ing w***ers
Pretty much this. We want a team that's ready to go, ready to kick off from day one, fit and tearing to go (which hasn't happened for years) and then we do this.... CH, I hope if you are the next one to fall foul of the set up, you have the balls and courage to reject a sign off and actually speak out. I hope tonight was planned this way, but right now it seems we are miles off being anywhere near anything that we need to be
People losing their **** at a bunch of kids & trialists losing are mental. But I grant people being annoyed at it not stating it's a Barnsley XI & no first team players. Such an own goal.
It will be a meticulously planned and extremely hard working free ride, with off the scale attention to detail.
If this is a meticulously planned pre season and transfer window I'd like to see one that's been thrown together. Once again Barnsley FC doing their level best to piss of their most loyal supporters who've spent good money to watch a 6 academy lads and about 16 trialists when it was billed as a first team friendly until the last minute.
Surely we can only conclude that once the first team squad is complete? Last night's friendly has absolutely no bearing on anything that will happen once the season starts.
Fair enough, but you didnt see the state of some of the lads that are presumably under consideration last night. The centre forward who got injured made Sam Cosgrove look like Gerd Muller
Doesn't this happen every pre season? A 'Barnsley XI'? Is the umbrage because it wasn't pitched as that?
Not so sure, depends on the home form. Start losing home games early on to Burton and Wimbledon and the Conor love in won't last. Plus it's difficult to see a direction for Neerav and the club if Conor fails..
Club isn't worth a w@nk. Mind you I'm dafter. Seen this sort of crap coming for years. Absolute joke.
