    I wish I looked as fit as him when I was 37. If we’d signed Cristiano Ronaldo would be saying the same about his age? I think not. I’m excited about this signing

    Fully appreciate the opposing views, and understand the concern. But this pleases me. You can’t have a squad full of unproven lads with no guile, no bol**x. You need a b*st*rd or two. Players who’ve been there and done it.

    The high press worries are silly. He won’t be leading a press. But he will be scoring daft goals and leading the group when needed.

    If it doesn’t work out, so be it. Neither did Cosgrove who hasn’t a thousandth of David’s talent.

    Better than any striking options apart from DKD, who I doubt will be here at the start of the season. So I’m ok with it tbh, would rather watch him then Watters.

    I’m ok with this / much better than the scattergun approach of last couple of season when we’ve ended up with Dallas/Shaw/ Cosgrove / Watters - who none have been any good or hardly even played.

    a lot of the defences in this division aren’t much better than league 2? He should be able to give us something.

    Experience and quality - on the decline but that isn’t an issue.

    The concern is though that they keep bleating about playing a high pressing game, wanting quick turnovers etc - he’s never been quick and he’s bound to have lost his legs to an extent, so how do those things mix?

    Left field; but I’m not unhappy per se.
