Obviously the age isn’t great but nobody can deny his quality. Probably won’t be a starter but his experience and ball striking should certainly offer us a lot. We sign younger players and people whinge about lack of experience. We sign experienced players and people whinge about them being too old.
Just in case you missed it, I was referring to him keeping himself fit, still playing and contributing to the goals, which both Ronaldo and Messi have done.
I'm surprised at this. But equally think of if it's just one season. He will probably do better than anything else we can get right now. Hopefully whilst 37, he still is able to do the majority of a game. Welcome aboard, and good luck fella...
Exactly and I was going to post that they are about the same age. McGoldrick will need reminding which goal to score in though seeing as he’s always been good at sticking one past OUR keeper
I don’t mind this at all, he got 17 last season and even though he’s 37 he’s still playing the vast majority of games. He brings plenty of experience and a bit of leadership. A good addition, plenty more to do.
Can't argue with his passed record definitely didn't see this one coming. Making me think we've lost out on other targets and panicked. But hopefully he will bring young lads on and score a few for us too. On the upside he could be our next manager when this shower sack him around Christmas
I’ve always rated McGoldrick & if we had signed him under Collins or Clarke I’d understand it. I may sound like a broken record but this makes no sense at all given all of Sormaz & Hourihane’s talk of playing a high press. Are they just making it up as they go along?
