    Sounds good to me.
Will quickly serve as a deterrent to attempt a boat crossing and the large majority of the legal migrants will want to crack on with their lives and contribute to the economy.
    Am I missing something?

Needs to coincide with a general rejection of asylum applications so it doesn’t increase the overall number successful.

Agree it’s preferable to take those who have applied via a proper route rather than pay criminals to jump the queue.

Farage hates the small boat crossings. But loves that we left the EU. Which is the reason small boat crossings have massively increased. Yet folk vote for him and his limited company full of racist grifters.

Because the UK is no longer part of the EU, it does not have access to the bloc’s asylum fingerprint database any more. Therefore, British authorities cannot know if people who arrive in small boats have already claimed asylum in an EU country.

If it did, the UK would be able to dismiss the claims. The UK is also no longer a part of the Dublin system that would allow for such asylum claimants to be returned to the EU. Migrants understand this, so view reaching the UK as giving them another chance at securing residence in the UK.

    Brexit benefits eh?

How do you propose we do that?

More Stanley knife tactics needed. The French police slashed one boat. They should be ordered to do it every time they see one of these so-called taxi boats coming ashore for arranged pick ups. Some might get through but plenty would be destroyed before setting off to England. They’d all get the message eventually.

The Dublin Agreement isn't working on the Polish/ German border....according to this.

    Another critique...albeit from 2023.

And how do we order the French police to do that?

What baffles me is that the people running the boat crossings are in the redugee camps of Calais literally touting for business. Surely it wouldn't be difficult to get an under-cover cop to tip off the authorities on all boat crossings.

The King and Macron should be discussing that. Macron will issue the order to slash more boats. I’m not confident he will though…

You’d think so, wouldn’t you? Shame the old fashioned border controls got scrapped then not so many of them would get into France in the first place

What else is there to discuss? I know he has no political power but a polite request “on behalf of ones government, Monsieur”

What's the incentive for the French to stop the boats leaving French shores? They don't want them in France, so can turn a blind eye. Then just take the cash we're paying for it.

They should make more effort to stop them transiting through their country then. Easier said than done, I know, but SOMETHING has to change. This huge tidal wave of illegals is not sustainable
