The suspense nearly killed me. It looks like Barnsley. I think the clue is on the sign that says "Barnsley Markets". If I hadn't seen that I'd have gone for Milton Keynes.
Great video that. They definitely took a massive gamble with the money spent on the glass works and related works but I don't think anybody could say it's not been worth it.
Oh they do on social media Personally think it looks amazing and as the guy said it's a blue print for other areas. Towns can't rely on shopping anymore - people have moved away from that
My favourite is "wonder how many brown envelopes...!" It used to be "potholes", before i realised that was just the default nationwide moan
Brilliant video that. Really knowledgable, respectful bloke. Makes a lovely change from the usual hatchet jobs that just interview smack heads. Excellent way to finish the video too - "You did a job, you didn't **** it"
Barnsley a **** hole ye reight. Maybe we should have a big sign on the bridge you had the money and didn't **** it up.
Appreciation from a stranger to the town of what a lot of locals can't see, or think is a white elephant.
Brilliant video - thanks for posting it. Barnsley Gay Pride 2025 at Mandela Gardens tomorrow (Saturday.)
love going out in barnsley with the lads, perfect night out, couldn't be a better atmosphere, especially as a somewhat young lad (22 lol)
The old guy didn't seem to recollect glass making in barnsley during his time on earth. (Unless I misunderstood) Had he not heard of Redfearns national glass (still.producing under another name) or Beatson clarkes. Which closed in the 2000s.
