I wasn’t sure as I thought that but others have said Sormaz. I did ask OP who said that but they haven’t replied.
Every time I've seen Luca in preseason pictures he's smiling.. If he's happy here and no desire to leave then there ain't going to be any deal..
We have apparently accepted 1.3m for Luca now. Feels a bit odd that 100k was all it needed to make the difference. Anyway I'm happy for him to go tbh.
It could be the terms of how the transfer will be paid that may have swayed their decision to accept at £1.3 million.
Poor deal really given how good he can be, the fact he's going to another promotion rival and how long he's got left on his deal. Personally I wouldn't have accepted anything less than 2 million from another L1 side
It's great business in my opinion. A player signed on a free who has, as we have found out, long term illness problems, and has declined year on year since the Duff season, sold for £1.3m. My only worry is the quality of his replacement.
I sort of understand it as much as the rate him. However , it’s only a good deal if they money is reinvested which it won’t be so far it seems to me that our squad is looking weaker than last seasons …and last seasons wasn’t good enough.
Totally disagree. Club has shown time after time that they won't reinvest the money from these sales so it makes us significantly weaker, whilst also making a top 6 side from L1 stronger. Putting us further behind them in the race for top 6. That's where the club wants to be and now making it harder to get there. They said a while ago that players needed to be sold as they want to plug losses, so this 1.3 million won't be used on a new defender, midfielder and winger that we need, it'll most likely just to go plugging some of the losses.
£1.3M is a significant sum for a League One club to spend (especially on a defensively minded player). List of top spends in League One (from TransferMarkt).
I think we've got a very good deal here. Don't think I'd be too chuffed if were paying over a million for a player of similar quality.
Nah, not for me. If you’re selling to a fellow competitor, you must get beyond what you would ordinarily settle for. Should’ve been a minimum 2 million, perhaps 1.5 with add-ons including a hefty sell-on clause.
The cynic in me says that we'll reveal another signing at the same time as officially announcing Connell has departed. No idea who. I haven't been near the carpark recently.
