Look up the symptoms of a knackered pump, as every dishwasher I've had break it's been that. If that sounds about right you can get a replacement for about 25 quid online and it's easy to fit yourself.
Ah yes, that complicates it. Unless you can get in by taking the front panel off at the bottom rather than pulling it out like you can on some?
If you remove the contents of the dishwasher you’ll see like a square mesh which is designed to stop any larger debris getting to the pump, we had a simile issue, albeit a different model, but wen I looked in the drain hole there was a piece of glass that was stopping the pump spinning. You might need a touch and a sponge to get the water out of the drain but have a look to see if there’s anything in, there most likely is…….be careful if it is a piece of stray glass though
Also there might be a small plastic clip to take out in the drain port too, it’s easy to get in and out but you’ll need to make sure all the water is out of the bottom first……..YouTube is great for things like this too
Cheers JC. Will have a go. Failing that it looks like Universal Appliances win the popular vote. Thanks to all for advice!
My Dad's a great appliance technician. Owt built in is a nightmare. He installed a new hob for me back in the day. He agree's with all measures mentioned by other posters btw.
Mr Hooky, this has been the default position at Kaht Towers terneet. I wouldn't mind, but I cooked dinner 'an all!
I prepare all meals in our house, and do the washing up and cleaning of the kitchen. Every day. The kitchen is my domain. The wife gets the bathroom and downstairs toilet! Fair trade in my mind.
In the inside of the dishwasher lift the aluminium cover thats covering the drain Remove the standing water and have a feel around for any blockage ( be aware there might be glass so use a knife to gently feel around first ) it wouldn't be the first time I've found plastic film blocking ours. Once youve checked that pull out your dishwasher and lower the rubber drain pipe at the back ( the end that goes to the outside waste) and drain the water into a bowl. Once you've done that give the pipe a wipe and blow up it before once again lowering the rubber pipe you will most likely get some more water out. Put it all back together and try the dishwasher You will most likely find the blockage is plastic film blocking the out let pump in the well of the machine Hope this helps
Bit perplexed, now. The lady at Universal Appliances tells me they don't fix dishwashers as they don't have an engineer who deals with them. Presumably they did in the past.
