Never seen any of them naked Stephen. Heard Liam Dickinson was very, erm, talented though.

Just thinking, he could feature in the worst striker thread too.

Mike Sheron used to live on our street in Sprotbrough when I was a kid and he seemed like a lovely bloke.

He had time and all the best players make everything else slow down around them.

I always found that the best forwards were the ones that stuck the ball between the posts and under the bar on a regular basis. Despite having clear ability, Sheron didn't meet expectations in this regard.

I could never decide whether Sheron was always thinking quicker than his teammates, or if he was just a bit toss.

I respect your opinion but I'd take him over Richard Naylor, Gary Mswegan and the late Tony Bedeau every day of the week.

Anderson de Silva. If he'd reached his full potential he'd have tore up the Championship. Maybe a lack of discipline or confidence issues, but yeah, best technical BFC player I've seen live

I always thought he was too good for the players around him when with us. On and off the ball. We dragged him down to our level!

Met and intervewed many over the years, if I had to pick one out I'd go for Phil Chambers; lovely bloke, unassuming, happy to talk with anyone and everyone.

In the days before extortionate salaries, most footballers lived in the local community and were just ordinary down to earth people. Les Lea, Tommy Graham, Gary Pierce, Ronnie Glavin, Alistair Miller, Derek Bell, John Macdonald all lived near me and all were great blokes who you saw out and about or in the local pub. I played football with Les Lea,( he was still the best player on the pitch in his 40s) and Gary Pierce ran the Sunday League team. I still see Tommy Graham around the village. Because they lived locally, everyone seemed more approachable back then. I've no doubt that today's players are probably just as sociable but when they live in detached houses on the outskirts of Leeds or Sheffield, you're not as likely to bump into them.
