Must admit I had read the title as being about players you had been in the company of not those you had just seen play.

Aryan De Zeuw. Always had time for a chat when he was out on his bike on TPT down Aldham way. (Sorry for sounding a bit Young Nudger-ish :().

Davey spent a stint staying at Ardsley House. When it was still open it was a minute walk away from where I live, so I was a semi regular.
Anyhow, some foreign barman there, who had literally no idea who Davey was, once nodded in his direction and told me all the staff hated him. When I asked why he said ‘because he drinks too much and p1sses the bed’.

Hignett and Sheron were both signed while Hendrie was manager.

Correct, Sheron was signed as Ashley Ward's replacement.

Glavin wasn’t owt special at first.
It was 76 when Kenny Brown was the boo boy that still won POY…. It was my first season watching and was a bit perplexed to say the least

For his first month, Glavin was unimpressive. For the next five seasons, he was the best Barnsley player I've ever seen play for our club.

Met Mick a few times and like the majority of ex reds players they are top people. Just to add I cannot think of any ex red players I have met who were ar.eholes.

I've got to admit. Even though I was attending all the games (at home especially) I never really remember Ronnie getting off to a poor start. Although I'm often reminded by others.

As for Kenny I was delighted for him, a local lad and tbh well deserved imo.
    Copied
He was a Barnsley FC player who won the club's Player of the Year award in the 1975-76 season. He was recognized for his performances as an opposition player.

I do, when he first came he was overweight and unfit, but once he got up to speed, he was away and played like the Ronnie we all remember.
