I'm the first to say that these owners are poor custodians of this Club. I don't think they have a scooby how to make us competitive. Even the simplest of decisions they seem to get wrong time and time again. However, there's absolutely nothing we can do about that right now. All we can do is hope that we've somehow managed to cobble together a competitive side for the coming season on the 2nd of August. The attacking of players isn't going to change anything. Well actually it might. They might see these posts, get wind of them from somewhere and they start to resent the fan base and the Club generally. We'll then not see their best football. Leading to poorer results than we would've potentially seen had we not been consistently and unwaveringly negative. All I'm saying is that they've not even signed for us and people are knocking them already. I can guarantee a large percentage who are knocking these lads have never even seen them play, not consciously anyway. Give them, the lads already here, and most importantly Conor, a fighting chance. The owners don't seem willing or able to do it (based on historical evidence). So it looks like we're going to have to. I wasn't going to renew my ST. I was furious after last season's car crash. I still am on some levels. But I did renew. Not for the owners, but for the team. What's the alternative? Keep being negative and nothing changes anyway? Change your outlook, you'll live longer.
From my point of view its not about knocking individual players, after all I've know idea if the rumour is true for starters and secondly I've never seen the lad play, so can't judge his ability whatsoever. The confusing thing is the noises that came from the club towards the end of last season aren't yet ringing true, of course there's still time for that to change. When Mladen Sormaz spoke to Andy Giddings in an interview he made the following points in no particular order • Early strides in the transfer market • Didn't feel pressured to recruit younger players as happy with current crop of young players coming through • Could afford (not money wise) to look at the more experienced players along with players in the mid 20's bracket as confident in players such as Jalo, Flavell, Bland. • Realised had to get this window right and tasked "his" recruitment team the same. • Budget will be competitive • The aim should always be to get out of the division and to be challenging, whether automatic or playoffs. We are a little over 2 weeks away from travelling to Plymouth to start the season and thus far it looks like another poor window, so I'm not taking umbrage to individual players but more so this circle of being told one thing and delivered something different.
And the point is we got Ivan Tony first, this time we could be getting the Ivan Tony that went to Peterborough. The point is that at that age and experience there is huge room for improvement.
