I said at the time it shocked me. I thought he’d at least offer decent cover across numerous positions on the bench.

Without texting him, I’m just assuming he maybe wants regular football and Conor couldn’t give him that?

I preferred him over O’Keeffe, personally. Neither are great though. You’d like to think there’s better out there.

You can only sign a pre-contract with a team in a different association, i.e. not in England under the FA jurisdiction.

Choose whoever and whatever, what's evident is there is an incredible amount of work to be done, that's before we lose anybody.
This team is far from being a team that can play a back 4 and with wingers, adopting a high press style, 21 and a bit days to go before we face one of the favourites for promotion doesn't leave alot of time to be ready for the start of the season.

I heard this live last week, as I lay on the sofa with the window open. The benefits of living opposite a ballpark. Post Malone and his fireworks entertained me the following night.

I believe you can only sign a pre-contract with a club outside of the country.

Edit - I see Baldrick has already said this.

Lucky that her breasts are small and humble, so you don't confuse them with mountains.

Proof, if it were needed, that people who can't speak English should consult with someone who can speak English before releasing a song in English.

That is the bit I always struggle to still understand. I got it when we first came down with all the players on Championship wages etc. but each season since relegation, we have sold players on (Morris, Brittain, Mads, Kitch etc.) or we have released big earners on frees to reduce wages (Benson, Williams, Cole etc.) none of the replacements coming in have cost anywhere near what we brought in or will be on anywhere near same wages.

So how we can still be losing 8-10 million a year does confuse me.

Say they were both on £10k a week (which they weren't), that's only a saving of a million quid. Then they need to be replaced. It's player sales which will close that figure.

Given the number of stalwarts I’ve spoken to who have not renewed I think that the season ticket sales may be worse than feared. Wouldn’t make that sort of difference of course. I actually think it’s quite an accomplishment losing that amount of money, whilst telling us that we have a competitive budget in one breath and then telling us we are skint the next. In other circumstances I would have suspected it was some sort of ruse to minimise tax on an associated company, but I can’t see how that could be the case here.

Benson and Humphrys have both been on this year's payroll until 30th June so we won't see a difference until the next set of accounts

Erm loss of £8m in solidarity payments for being in the champ, lack of player sales, big wage bill, increased costs across football, all adds up in the end.
I mean Cosgrove, Watters, Dallas & Shaw cost the club close to 1.5m in transfer fees, wages and associated costs, Bensons games played vs money earned worked out at 66k per appearence.

Also bear in mind that the average wage in L1 has increased by 41% in the 3 years up to summer 2024.
Thats according to the Price of Football podcast I listen to and it doesn't include last season where Birmingham n Wrexham spent fortunes.

Players costs are spiralling n the quality isn't getting any better

yet in reality it needs clubs to stand up to it and not meet this daft wages for average players.

I don't think we can especially include the lost championship payments. If you're at a higher level, you have to pay more in wages and fees unless you're effectively subsidising a championship squad (and we definitely don't feel like a championship squad to me), plus we traditionally write salary discounts into our contracts, which must surely work the other way if promoted. So I suspect player salaries would increase by 20-30% instantly on promotion before any contracted bonuses. So by the time you've recruited, expanded your general work force and paid enhanced salaries, you're likely in a similar loss making position as before.

I'd love to see our p&l ledgers because I suspect we're wasting money on a number of things that make neither footballing nor financial sense.

All good fair points, I think John Flatman quoted a figure of 11m for the footballing side of things and a further 6m to keep the lights on, 17m total at the last fan engagement in sep 2024.
