That was the crossing gates next to Knaresborough station. White van ran down the steep hill and smashed through the gates. Failed handbrake/vehicle not parked in gear. I hope he has to pay for the damage!
Knaresborough was last Thursday . Harrogate was today. If not sorted get off at Hornbeam Park (1 stop before Harrogate). The town centre is a 20 minute walk away or 5 minute bus ride if you walk up the hill to Leeds Road. The ground is 15 minutes the other way and the Woodlands Pub (although not great) is en-route. I hope this helps.
How many are thinking of going? Not many I guess, given that the tickets are on sale tomorrow. And the weather looks evil all afternoon.
Trains running normally now between Leeds and Harrogate there’s quite a few of us catching 09.10 from tarn COYR
Going by car but looking at weather forecast I reckon it could get called off. Heavy rain forecast from 11am onwards and ground is rock hard from drought.
Yeah, Hibs I think wasn’t it? Didn’t go but I know some that did. Some of our fans got attacked too if I remember right. At least that won’t happen in Harrogate lol.
I’ve only got 30 miles to travel but I thought I’d check what the situation is today. I rang their reception and he said the game is definitely on. Of course the ref might have a different view when he tries to roll the ball on a sodden surface. Im not leaving home until about 1.30 so might check again
I'd imagine that Harrogate might be "amenable" to the slightest suggestion from the referee that it shouldn't go ahead. If the rain is as bad as forecast and it goes ahead, it could make a proper mess of their pitch, 2 weeks before the season starts. For the sake of a friendly.
My thinking exactly. Who can trust weather forecasts though. Supposed to be 90% heavy rain here, east of York. Nothing more than drizzle
It’s been raining constantly in Harrogate since we got here around 11 but it’s not as heavy as they forecast. If it doesn’t get any worse it should be ok.
If it’s called off I’ll show my arse on the steps of the Royal Baths. The groundsman will be glad of what’s been not much more than a persistent drizzle since about 10:30.
