Possibly not Jay. But I have been on it for a long time and I really do appreciate that it’s a forum for people to express their opinions. Even if they are often presented as fact. Perhaps I am just clumsily expressing my dislike of scapegoating. Some of the terms recently used to describe the player in question, in one case from a poster I highly respect, just seems to me to be going too far.
To be honest I’m completely fed up with the club. I’ve had 2 years of defending managers, you could argue 3 as I even found myself defending Duff but my enthusiasm’s completely gone. I’ve got no faith in the management after what I saw at the end of last season & I’ve got no faith in Sormaz & the people in charge after seeing the decisions they’ve made & the amount of money they’ve lost. I should probably come off here as I’ve nothing positive to add currently.
Speaking of which - calamity Jon is back in a holding midfield role - two horrendous passes gifted them 2 chances, which is the only time we've looked in any trouble apart from Shepherd gifting them possession in our own area. McGoldrick the best player on the pitch by a million miles
To be fair luca got into a habit of that last season. Russell is better further up the field. We could do with another holding midfielder it's not Russell's position.
McGoldrick looks great, DKD too. Unsurprisingly and even though I don’t really mind him all that much, MDG the weak spot so hopefully get a proper RB in before end of window. Bland is class too. 1 miss placed pass but other than that does not look like a young lad at all. Impressed with him.
I know exactly what you mean. I was sorely tempted not to renew, but the fact is that it’s the only regular occasion I get the chance to spend time with my sons and grandson. And that swayed me. The fact is that my love for the game in general has just about disappeared. But I have seen much worse times. My first game, in October 1966, we were bottom of the 4th Division. So I suppose I live in hope.
He's a great player. If he can keep the same level of performance up at 37/38 he'll be a fantastic signing. I have my doubts about that but he appears to be made of kryptonite or summat.
I think it's bang out of order the way that MDG has been scapegoated compared to how favourably people have spoken about O'Keeffe, Cosgrove, watters, Russell, Connell and Earl etc.
I take your point. Still doesn’t justify scapegoating anyone though. Having said that, it’s never been any different.
Thought you were dubious when he signed, or did I read you wrong? Edit....just seen where you mention you got your doubts still
Also, does anyone know the rule where the keeper gets 6 seconds and if he hasn’t released it by that time the opposing team gets a corner is coming into the full time? I know it was trialled last year in Premier league 2 and referee has been exercising it today.
If half or even the majority of the team are being regularly criticised then I don't think it's scapegoating, I think it's simply criticism
Russell was one of our best players last season. He but was more of a scapegoat than any for some on here. MDG was a accident waiting to happen majority of the season.
