I was going to say Colin Marshall. He plundered goals galore below first team level and think he had what, 2 or 3 sub appearances? I also thought Jovo. Talent and character galore, but he was expected to make the step up in the premier league.
Carl Barrowclough is one I definitely expected to have a decent career in the game, ditto Sean McClare. Heard a rumour Sean liked a drink a bit more than he should have. Don't know how true it is, but I did bump into him and Scott Jones out and about in Sheffield once and they were pretty well oiled. Brian McCord - brilliant on loan, utterly wnak once signed permanently. So bad in fact that I thought Derby might have sent us the wrong bloke.
Aiden Marsh. Would liked to have seen a fellow Monk Brettoner make it but alas hasn't happened for him (yet)
Used to watch a lot of reserve games before I left Barnsley and had high hopes for Sean McClare, Brian O'Callaghan and Mark Burton.
Oddly I was talking about this the other day. Lovre looked like he had all the attributes but for whatever reason it just didn’t happen. I really liked loan Chris Lumsdon. Permanent Chris Lumsdon just wasn’t as good. I also had big soft spots for Josh Scowen and Alfie Mawson. The latter sadly ruined by injury.
Darren Foreman too. Similar to Marshall that he scored loads in the reserves, though he did at least get the winner against dirty Leeds in Machin’s first game.
