It isn't most of them but there's enough to raise a few eyebrows Edge, Christian, bobby lashley, goldust, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, big Cass, Jeff Jarrett, dean Ambrose, Samoa Joe, Evan Bourne, Rusev
Rusev is back in the Wwf again now. And you forgot to mention Sasha Banks, Paige, Montel V.Porter, Shelton Benjamin, Renee Young, Tazz, and a few of the refs. I might have got some wrong, and I might have forgot some more as well. And Cm Punk used to, but he's back in the Wwf, getting under the skin of Seth Rollins lol.
You might not be bothered, but I believe every WWF PPV is now available on Netflix. The full back catalogue from the 80s to the present day. I'll occasionally stick one on in the background while I'm cooking. Though I don't watch anything after 2001.
Hulk was a bit before my time but I would still argue he’s one of the most well known wrestlers of them all. I think probably only The Rock surpasses him now. I think when I first started getting into wrestling, it was just before the WCW invasion storyline. It was pretty cool to see Hulk join NWO after he’d always been the good guy from what I’d seen.
True. And sadly lots of actors have professed their love of Trumpism, and I don't watch those either.
Two goalposts on a pitch ;-) I find it strange how morality seems to have been left at the door on this one. Fakery, orchestrated drug programmes, history of racism, the McMahon families long held links to Trump and one serving in his administration. But hey ho.
WWE is nothing like that. It's pre determined entertainment, they have had a Wellness policy for many years to keep talent clean of drugs, and spot monkey types are usually found I'm AEW or TNA. WWE wrestlers have more about them.
I believe many within the thread made reference to Hogan’s dodgy character, whilst also acknowledging his huge impact on popular culture.
Some have. And have continued with praise not just of him, but of the whole McMahon construct and their personal enjoyment of it.
Are you telling me you think current wrestlers aren't on steroids? That John Cena can look like he does naturally at nearly 50? Or 53 year old the Rock looks the way he does just because he eats a lot of protein?
And? I loved WWF/WWE. I still go back and watch old matches from time to time. I guess there’s an element of it being a path to my childhood and it’s nice to reminisce. I stopped watching regularly once I left education and entered the workplace. So early noughties. Grew out of it I guess. But it was a key part of my growing up. My mate’s dad was one of the early people to get Sky TV so I got into it through that. But while I haven’t watched the modern stuff for the last couple of decades, I’ve watched a lot of external programming over the years. About the history of the company, about the many wrestlers who’ve died - Dark Side of the Ring is essential TV - and of course, the most recent McMahon documentary. It’s a crazy industry and fascinating to learn about. A lot of the stuff away from the ring is crazier than the stories created within it.
Everybody is entitled to like and enjoy what they wish. Personally, I can't watch, partake or reminisce about something that goes against my values and morals. I watched plenty of carry on films as a kid, knowing the shocking exploitation of the actors, I could never watch one again. "Wrestling" and the McMahon empire is one such thing. The dozens and dozens of people who died (though I'm sure most did more than OK out of it financially for a time) to make the McMahons rich and powerful is shocking. And their alignment and participation in maga America only heightens my view of them. Others are free to judge and view as they wish.
But only after your lecture, yeah? There are threads about horse racing on the page, and other activities I’ve no time for. I just don’t enter them.
Some of the WWE apologists in this thread clearly haven’t sat in the trenches when the product was truly horrific. AEW is a great company and a breath of fresh air in professional wrestling. **** the Fed.
