I've got huge reservations regarding the wisdom of a sequel, but the trailer suggests it might be better than my very low expectations have set for it.
One of those films I cant see how it can improve on the original so not likely to go to the flicks to so it
Slightly off topic, but every "new" film these days seems to be either a sequel, or a remake of an old film. Of the 8 new films currently being shown at the Cineworld in town, only the F1 movie is completely original or not a sequel. The majority of the movies you can pre-book for too are also either sequels or remakes. Obviously, this isn't a new thing, but it does seem to be the done thing now to make a sequel or do a remake of a 25 year old film.
Was F1 movie loosely based on factual events? It seemed to me to be based on Nigel Mansell and his return to Williams after the Indicar spell. Interspersed with Aerton Senna's crash.
I haven't seen it yet, nor read that much about it so I can't comment. Though I know it's not a remake or a sequel.
It’s not like they haven’t played those characters since the film in various scenarios with inevitably varying degrees of success - concerts, tv spots etc. The original is insurmountably brilliant but personally I’m looking forward to spending more time with those characters and don’t really feel a need to judge the new film against the first.
