It's pretty bad. Seems like we're so focussed on making a kit which is unique and has some attachment to Barnsley, that we forget about making it look nice.
Last season it was go back to traditional Barnsley, this time it’s not a fan of nostalgia. Sorry JAQ but you can’t do reyt for doing wrong in some folks eyes. Personally think it’s a great piece. Will purchase for sure. You reds!
Kes is a truly amazing film, it depicts the life of a working class child from a coal mining family who has basically nothing going for him and no prospects other than to raise a kestrel, which is why it has such great significance and longevity. On a football away shirt though, not sure personally. But everyone will have their opinion.
I've never seen Kes and I never will. But I've seen the bits with Brian Glover as the horrible sports Pe teacher lol. Maybe they could have put his snarling face on the 4th or 5th kit.
To be fair I don't think there's anything traditional or nostalgic about a giant photo of a kestrel on a Barnsley shirt.
Stand at your Back door with your arm out stretched parallel to your chest and shout.....Come on kes come on kes come on girl ....like some one said earlier she's not going to come, she's in the bin, most likely wrapped in the new away shirt, if some have their way
How well did they act in the book ?. Maybe Diana Rigg should have played a high kicking naughty headmistress.
And that should be the main selling point, smart shirts sell, people wear them for allsorts not just matchday, personally wouldn't walk around with giant bird on the front of a shirt. What next a miners lamp and a percy Turner pork pie
