    Seriously though, what is this history they keep talking about? No top flight football for a quarter of a century, did ok in the 60s and 80s, just midtable top flight. Pre-war they won a couple of cups and titles, as did a lot of other teams. They were established in 1867, and they still weren't among of the dozen or so founding members of the Football League. Ok they have a catchy name. There are about 25 teams bigger with more potential marketing clout than them goons

    They won the league cup 34 years ago.

    Beyond that, you've got to be in your 70s to remember the last time they were crowned champions of the division they were playing in (second division, 58/59). And you've got to be in possession of a telegram from the King to remember the last time they were 1st division champions as its coming up to 100 years ago.

    Callum Patterson has now left, signed for MK Dons that's Patterson, Smith, Windass, Mussaba and Gassama in the past week and 6 more still technically able to walk.
