He didn’t need to, apparently he hired a small construction company in Bangkok to carry out a second structural survey on the stand and they managed to write a report on it without even visiting it
They can only pay a maximum of £7k per. Bannan has been on £25k+ pw for a very long time. Will he really take an £18k+ pw pay drop?
Is that a fact. Re the cap. From what I can gather that needs to be verified. New signings yes. Others not so sure. Copied It is not definitively clear if the £7,000 wage cap would apply to renewed contracts for existing players like Bannan, or if there are exceptions or different interpretations under the embargo. Discussions are taking place on this topic. Imo Even if so. £7k for a 35yr old with promise of a longer contract than most would offer and a contract like Connor was given re coaching. It may not be a bad deal. I wonder what the situation would be if wages were covered by sponsorship. As is not unknown. But why anyone would sponsor owt to do with wendy at this time is beyond me.
Listening to these Deedah's on Radio Sheffield is wild, they are all coming on wondering how things have got so bad, and why the club keeps soaking them for money, no hint of self-reflection about playing players like Barry Bannon £27k a week and the club losing £3.5 million a month because they've consistently overpaid for players.
Has a team ever been so nailed on certs for relegation before? Let’s hope we’re passing them on our way up come next May.
On the plus side if we don’t go up we could be part of their relegation to league 2! silver linings and all that
I'm glad I listened to Radio Sheffield tonight. I had actually reached the point of having some sympathy for Wednesday fans. Hearing some of those fruitcakes tonight has firmly cured me of that!
Definitely a silver lining. Let’s hope they have several years of struggle as they tumble down the divisions.
"It's the EFL's fault" apparently for letting him takeover according to some of their fanbase, I bet it was his fault too on the eve of their playoff final v Hull, when they'd spent millions and they were charging towards the PL and a place in the champions league anytime soon. Their delusion never fails.
