It's definitely a front runner for shiitest nickname of all time, footballer or otherwise.

Trying to think of any worse ones I've come across in my 47 years on the planet, and I'm struggling.

    Brilliant shout.

Alex MacLeish - "Big 'Eck" is also pretty rubbish, although maybe I'm missing something. @arabian_ian maybe you could explain?!

Best ones - Snoz, Mr Bojangles.

    Self explanatory I’d say.
Alex is Eck here and he is tall so Big Eck.
So yes a bit rubbish and you are missing nothing.

Cheers Ian. I had no idea Alex could be shortened to "Eck".

Me neither. I’d rather write his name in full or abbreviate it to DMcG

No brainer for Captain really - it pushes his value up.

It tells other clubs his value, and that we’re happy to stick with him if the offer isn’t right.

For me, it doesn’t mean he’s 100% staying, just means it’s business as usual. Which is exactly how it should be played.

Still think he’ll be gone come 1st Sept as we need the money really though.

Only a DKD sale for big money may stop others having to be sold.

Today’s Connell was the one we had in the Duff season. Immense…..

Agreed mate he was excellent today. All over the pitch. I dont think any of our lads had a bad game. Shep first 15 mins with some dodgy passing, but after that I thought he was calm and composed and defended really well, especially after the disruption of the defence. Thought Earl looked a little iffy at left back at times, but did better as the game went on. DKD was largely quiet, but a great finish and played better when central.

We also tried some first time passes, a few too many at times when we had an extra second of the ball, and they went astray, a couple in particular from Mcgoldrick - but I think its clear what we are trying to do. A few more games together, perhaps a couple more additions, hopefully we can march on!
