Thought he should glimpses and other than his goal DKD was average which makes the result even better because when these two click it will be well worth watching.

Exactly what we've been missing. Only showed flashes of what he's about, but his movement is on another level. Worth more than Watters and Cosgrove combined.

Even though the shots he had today didn’t come off, his link up play and touch was streets above what we saw from Watters, Cosgrove and Rodrigues last season.

That's my takeaway. Three goals on the board and DKD was quiet and McGoldrick didn't have his shooting boots on. This bodes very well for when they get into the groove.

Definitely looked a bit rusty at times, but his movement was on a different level. Creates so much space for others to utilise.

Wasn't a great debut. Plenty more to come.

Being an improvement on Watters, Cosgrove and Rodriguez goes without saying.

Our problem this season won’t be scoring goals it will be at the other end. We’re good candidates for btts/over .[emoji6] goals a game.

Connell was man of the match by a mile for me. But I dont think anyone played poorly, including all the substitutes.

I've only seen one game, so I'm miles away from forming an opinion, but after that one game...

I thought the most impressive player for us was Josh Earl. Not when he was at left back, he hasn't got the pace to cope with a winger just kicking it beyond him and running. But when he moved into the centre he was so cool.
Cooper was better than any keeper we've had since Brad Collins.
Connell played better than he did for 95% of last season.
Bland looks a right unit. He's only 19? Jesus.
Vickers looks like he has summat.
And everyone else played well, including McGoldrick, but he didn't stand out for me, he was just part of a team that worked hard and had a lot of professionalism about them.
The slight exception was DKD, who looked a bit lost, trying to work the left flank and support McGoldrick, I'd much prefer to see a winger out on the left and DKD between a midfield two and McGoldrick, but his finish was Premier League class.

Cooper seems to have a bit of the Clive Baker's about him - diminutive but excellent shot-stopper.
    Here's hoping, anyway.

Not for me just some of his efforts we’re half arsed hopefully he looks like he can hold the ball up well and lay it off, if only we’d another striker for him to provide service to.

In pretty much every interview I've ever read with footballers who've played on well into their 30's and beyond, one of the comments that appears time and time again, is that they know when something is a lost cause, and won't go chasing it like they did when they were 20. It's got nothing to do with being half-arsed, it's because as experienced athletes, they understand full-well the importance of conserving their energy and using it at the right moment. I noticed several times when McGoldrick was chasing balls he stood a chance of winning, his acceleration over 10-15 yards was incredible. You can't be doing that at 37 if you're pointlessly expending energy tearing round the pitch when there's no need. Another thing is that players of that age are usually so positionally aware that most of the time they're already in the right place.

I’m was meaning his affords at goal not chasing the ball down, the fluff over the top and that port attempted lob.

If sprinting back 30 yards after we went 2-0 up and making a great sliding tackle and getting wrongfully booked is half arsed effort, can’t wait to see him making an effort.

The bloke oozes quality that we haven’t seen in years and makes the game look easy. He may appear lackadaisical as he’s 10 yards in front of anyone else on the pitch in his head alone

He said himself.. he hasn't lost his pace because he never had any.. Players must play the ball to his feet, waste of time Infront of him.
But I don't think much came off for him yesterday but his sheer presence was enough to upset a pretty poor Plymouth defence.
