    Barnsley Football Club can confirm the official squad numbers for the upcoming 2025/26 season.


    Ahead of the start of the new campaign, the Reds squad has now been assigned their numbers, with several familiar faces retaining their shirts while new additions and younger talents take their place in the first-team set-up.

    Here is the full list of squad numbers for 2025/26:

    These squad numbers will be worn for the first time today at Plymouth Argyle, before being worn for the first time at home a week later as the Reds welcome Burton Albion to Oakwell.​

    I wouldn't read too much into it.Wouldn't DKD have been given the 9 shirt and possibly Earl at number 2?

    Earl being a left sided defender as number 2 would feel wrong.

    Given how random they are, I would assume Earl, DKD and Connell all have attachments to their numbers. Or they just aren’t arsed about changing.

    Earl played with same number at a few clubs, DKD had same number at Mansfield too, not got clue about Connell but think he’s had same one since here.
