Surprised Mr Fury hasn't offered to help, what with him living there and I assume, having enough money to buy the Club 100 times over.

That being said, it's not down to him, whether he has the brass or not

    A real shame.

It sickens me to see these vultures killing lower league shoestring clubs whilst the billionaire Prem lot continue to wallow in never ending excess.

    Football is broken.

Doesn't matter who is interested, Mr Whittingham will not sell. The papers for punjab warriors to take over have been ready for his signature weeks ago but he's gone into hiding

Been broken a long time mate, the creation of the Greed League being the last straw.

True. I was talking about the Premier League, but you can add the Champions and Europa Leagues to the list. The final nail in the coffin will be when the big clubs eventually get their way and form the European Super League, just a matter of time.

Normally you’d think so but article I read yesterday was saying that Morecombe generally is very run down and the town/area relies heavily on the football trade it gets, which would suggest without it the land is not worth that much.
Sad times if any club goes under

It might seem a bit crass in the circumstances, but this meme sums it up perfectly.

I like Morecambe and visit once or twice a year. Like many seaside resorts, it seems to be slowly recovering from rock bottom but the town centre is still a little rough - but it is one of the few places in the UK where you can see two National Parks without moving your feet (Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales - and also the edge of Bowland)

Unfortunately it is looking worse than bleak, as a few on here know I am a MFC season ticket holder, I take my 91 year old father to the games, we have season tickets for this season but obviously can't see them playing any games.......theve been my second team since 1968, behind BFC of course, they were my little non league team, then they got into the FL and of course two yeears ago we played at the same level as them.......losing 1-0 at the Globe was not good for me, I was in the away end ...anyway JW is an absolute shithouse, the other former owner Colin G was a solicitor, struck off for embezelment, both he and JW were banned from being co directors......the EFL were abs no help at all, Tyson Fury has always said he is not interested sespite Press stories to the contrary.....with Morecambe it is a bit more complicted as well as a lot of the land is owned by a trust but the previous owner somehow got round some od=f theis when the club moved from Christie Park and bits have been sold off, TF does in fact now own the former Gymn premises to the rer of the ground which was bought off administrators previously....

The football trade is non existent where away fans come into the equation. Head of football operations in east Lancashire police sees to that.
    Lancaster benefits.

Sad indeed mate. If Tyson could have offered some help. I'm sure the fans would have dug deep. Other clubs had/have supporters trusts as owners. (Pompey an example at one time)
Could the council not have had a say, preventing the present owner from applying for other uses. Could it have meant Admin as the only way out. ?

Patrick Cryne never really wanted to take over our club. But saw himself as the patron initially. And Barnsley Council own our ground, so unlikely ever to be used for other reasons.

I'm guessing all those avenues have been explored by now. But to no avail.

Whilst there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. Let's hope it's not extinguished.

Said it before they won't be alone in their troubles, a few more will follow suit. It's the premiership wages filtering down to the lesser players, they think they deserve it to.

A local hotelier and cafe owners were ones who said they and others relied on it
