Very experienced Ideal signing. Some won't be happy we haven't paid money for him but hey oh. Its a long season but if he's kept himself fit he shouldn't be too long. Don't forget transfers don't happen over night so he's probably been a target for a while. Welcome Tennai.
Hopefully he can do a solid job at right back. It's a bit weird we've let 3 right wing backs go.... to bring in a right wing back. As others have said and on the basis of a one year deal, we're clearly down the list of prospects and not convinced. Maybe we're paying higher wages than we'd like, so like with Humphreys, we're giving ourselves a swift opt out. Not averse to that but I'm very surprised it's taken us this long to recruit someone for a position we had nobody at all for and that it's for such a short term.
People criticising a guy who hasn't even kicked a ball for us yet. We are a league 1 club and have to cut our cloth accordingly. Who were some folk expecting? Trent Alexander-Arnold?
From a Charlton fan : "Us fan always rated him, but he was injured for a long time and for some reason the managers didn't rate him"
Reading Wikpedia,Transfermarket and the press he's a right back who can also play left back and centre back.
Not sure why people are crying. He seems an ok player on a 1 year deal with a decent amount of league one experience
On the face of it looks like we might as well have just kept Cotter. But on the other hand he's got a lot of experience at this level and is coming into the prime of his career. Plenty of comments from Charlton fans about him having a first-class attitude, which I'm sure didn't go unnoticed. Could turn out to be a very astute signing.
According to transfermarkt, he’s played more games at right back than wing back, but no idea how accurate that is. Hourihane said that he wanted a more attacking full back to give options as it sounds like MDG will be the more defensive right back option. Got some experience in this league, I guess we will see how he goes for us. I’d expect a back 4 tomorrow of Bland, MDG, Earl and Ogbeta with Watson and Barrett on the bench.
Everything i’ve seen so far from Charlton fans commenting on him looks positive. I really cba to grumble about signing players who are experienced at this level and seem to be reasonably well thought of by previous clubs. For me the squad for this season seems to be coming together quite nicely at the moment.
I can absolutely guarantee the people on here slaying the kid / the club have never seen him play. And anyone basing their assessment of what morons on twitter spew need to have a long hard look at themselves. Absolute hell-site.
