The pen looked soft, just looked like two players coming together but I have to seen it back yet. Was it a foul?
Me an Wife went darn to Plymouth an to be fair we kept telling each other throughout the game that it was winnable, decent team Burton or should i say played well with what they av for 45 minutes, but we were that bad it made em look good. Wer both over the moon Barnsley won, as i'm sure you all are, the gate was awesome t'day an that was good cos it showed exactly what Barnsley F.C. is all about, Jekyll an Hyde, they saw how bad we are an what wer capable of. Keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
Looks like an elbow on the Sky highlights. Difficult to tell if he made contact but seems like an easy decision for the ref
Agreed - we've had some very poor strikers recently, and Didzy is a revelation. But I do wonder how much players who rely on poaching like Watters could have benefitted from having someone like McGoldrick next to them on the pitch, or in training. We've not done well with strikers in recent years, and I wonder what difference having somebody of that quality in every day will make. We probably haven't had a player who you'd bank on to score a goal like our third today in years - maybe since Winnall. Right run, right place, bang. He made it look easy.
100% we were made to look crap because they were so good off the ball. Second half they dropped back and thats where the quality compared to last season showed. A striker whos can take the ball into feet and wide players that take their man on instead of passing side to side.
Fantastic comeback and fair play to the lads. Got to sort that defence out though as better sides will take us to the cleaners.
I wouldn’t have given it as a penalty - looks like 2 players coming together in the box, Mcgoldrick turns his back at last second, perhaps to avoid hitting each other face to face which could have been a bit nasty, maybe that’s why the ref gave it though? Made it look more like his fault by doing that - also the ball had already gone past both of them when they came together - very soft for me
Im still thinking how lucky we are to have got him in and there’s only one man to thank for that - Conor, obviously. He wouldn’t have come for Darrell Clarke, that’s for sure.
" said at the start of the season we will be a certainty for BTTS this season and after 2 games it’s definitely looking that way." What's BTTS?
Needs must at times but I don't think Josh and Mael will play many games together. Its alright dropping one in from time to time but its different when your 2 main defenders are out together.Anyway like good teams do we got our act together and got the 3 points.Well chuffed tonight.
Quite a few negative over reactions yet again on here, at half time. Yeah ok I was angry with them as well, but I chose to leave it until full time!. Anyway, there will be many better and harder teams than Burton, to come here this season. And we can't keep doing that to ourselves. With that sort of bad defending and keeping, and all round terrible individual mistakes. But that impressive second half comeback really shows the positives we have, and hopefully we'll keep trying to build on.
12,400 and odd, 400 odd from Burton. 12k home fans, decent turnout. Always likely with the ticket offer. The second half turnaround might bring them back too.
It’s early days and maybe I’m reaching somewhat but there does appear to be a significant difference from what we’ve witnessed last season. The players appear motivated and aware of their role, we’re pressing as a team throughout the game, and we seem to have developed a sense of resilience. Last Saturday I feared we’d go under after conceding and going a man down, equally today I thought we were done for at HT being 0-2. I enjoyed the novelty of walking to/from Oakwell surrounded by positivity. We’re on the up!
Let’s hope so. Spoke to a couple of people today who I expected to have renewed but they hadn’t. Probably half the crowd today were those that had paid for the £15 ticket. Hopefully they haven’t turned their backs completely and might be enticed back.
