And some of their fans would have rather kept him, and got rid of that donkey Devante instead (their words, not mine!).
Said when we signed him he was brilliant and would be a fantastic piece of business, my analysis was questioned by some, but I'd seen the guy play in the flesh and had no question he'd be great.
An excellent cameo from the bench. I think as the season pans out, this lad will get better and better. Very promising start, and I'm looking forward to seeing him progress in the coming months.
What an outstanding debut. Built like a brick shithouse and great skill. Looks like a great signing. Well done Mladen and BFC.
It's always the people who don't appreciate non-league signings. Cracking talent and can see him getting more suitors if he has a good season. I just really hope the pressure doesn't get to him when he makes a mistake or runs the ball out of play.
I think that's a good point @Reece M , it's how they keep that confidence when they inevitably make mistakes in a team that is struggling.
Am I right in thinking Cleary, Vickers and Jalo all play in the same position though? A bit of a shame.
I have no idea if Cleary can finish, but he looks to have all the attributes of a centre forward. Can see him being used there if his finishing is half decent.
The fact we have DKD and Mcgoldrick with any of those lads to come on is the strength in depth we needed. Potentially another number 9 to come in too. With the high press we can swap all 3 forwards, similar to how Val did it. Exactly Helen, spoke about it on another thread about Jasper Moon, his confidence was shattered due to mistakes.
I remember that thread well. Early days, but we both gave opinions based on actually seeing him play and on yesterday’s showing, the step up didn’t hamper his ability to stand out.
Agree YT, all about consistency and game time for him, we both watched him be head and shoulders above anyone that day
Cleary has mainly played either as an out and out centre forward or as a left sided forward. I know most games were at premier league 2 and under 18 level but his scoring record was seriously impressive. When adjust for minutes played he scored a goal every 1.16 games. https://www.transfermarkt.com/reyes-cleary/leistungsdaten/spieler/746553/plus/0?saison=ges
