The referee was a ‘homer’ - seriously? They spent more time on the grass than Bob Marley and he gave them free kicks for every single one!
Referee had a shocker. 2 games into the season and we’ve had games where both sets of fans are bemoaning the ref. Says it all really.
It’s cos players just looking to cheat for decisions all the time. Always on an absolute hiding to nothing. He did award them some absolute nonsense free kicks yesterday though.
I may be wrong but was their trainer on 5 times while they were winning. Either the EFL needs to be hauling them in or we need banning as a health hazard to other teams...when will the cheating stop..
No different to our keeper going down injured for zero reason before the pen. Literally think it was only to try and find out which way the pen taker might go.
That is very true. I’m not saying it’s an easy job but some of them seem like they’ve never played the game before. There were a couple yesterday where if he’d have waited half a second he could’ve played the advantage and let the game flow but he chose not to. Poor refereeing.
“Let's take the positives though, we went to a big budget side and were rightly 2 up at half time. 12000 fans witnessed lil ol' Burton embarrassing them.”
Hardly embarrassed us a pen and a mad moment from a defender and our keeper caught out. Their keeper couldn't kick a ball to save his life but pulled off a great save to deny dkd in the 1st half and another good one 2nd half. We were poor 1st half though.
I've read the whole thread and tbf most are moaning about their collapse. A few load of tripe. But hey its a fans forum lol. . As for the Penalty incident. I've watched it a few times. There was no malice in it. I just think it was a natural movement by McGoldrick. And as for the ref on our side. I'm struggling to think of more than 1 instance where we conned him. (Played for and got). A few strange ones given against us.
Wages are more relevant than transfer fees paid when talking about budget though. In accounts published since we’ve been in league 1 we’ve been top 6 in terms of wages.
And somebody saying "he's glad it happened against the likes of Barnsley." Err is he giving us credit there, or having a pop at us.
To he honest looking at the replay' on another day it could have been a red' definitely leads with the elbow i think.
As somebody who's got a bit of an addiction to looking at opposition views after matches, I can confidently state that ours is easily up there as one of the best over both the Championship and League One. Bristol City's always stood out to me as another good example (And I know @Gally has always resisted it, but they do a £5pa membership that I'm sure many on here would be happy to get in on). Owlstalk too, to be fair. I do still think it's a bit of a shame that we eventually succumbed to the MDT thing though!
