Oakwell is the place to be this week as Barnsley look to build on a perfect start to the season with two home fixtures in just four days.


First up, Fleetwood Town visit on Wednesday 13 August in the Carabao Cup First Round. The Reds have made a flying start with two wins from two in the league, and now the focus turns to cup action under the lights – a great chance to see the lads push for a place in the next round.

Then, it’s back to league business on Saturday 16 August when Bolton Wanderers come to Oakwell for a clash between two ambitious sides. With both teams aiming high this season, it promises to be a cracking atmosphere.

The weather forecast is set fair for both games, so there’s no better time to get behind Conor Hourihane’s men and be part of the action. Saturday’s fixture will also feature our Fanzone – with music drink, and Reds chatter before kick-off.

Hahahaha......

 

Here we go again. My 9 year old grandson instantly spotted those mistakes. Takes no effort to read through before releasing to the outside world.

 

Still pretty sure it’s Newsbot making these errors but I’m not sure who’s in charge of it?

 

There my be a double header in the press department.

 

It's word how it was incorrect in 3 or 4 mailers in a row, then correct for two, now wrong again.

Like you, I thought it was something in the conversion through newsbot, but I'm less sure now given it was accurate now isn't again. That suggests a manual omission or error.

 

Good grief. Amateur hour again.

In my parallel make believe universes, the ones I live in all the time, I went to both of these games last weekend and we did ok against Bolton, drawing 2-2 but as usual in the 1st round cup game we were terrible, once again playing so many youngsters who really did look out of place and out of synch that it was no surprise at all that we lost miserably.
A typical 1st round exit in a secondary competition, failing yet again against lower opposition (in a "teams like Fleetwood" sort of way).

 

Surely even Newsbot knows that we never kick off at 2:00 pm.

 

Does the Newsbot handler not even read what chatgpt spits out before copying and pasting it?

 

But if you click the link, and ignore the copy and pasted conversion by NewsBot (which isn’t the club) then you’ll see that the ‘incorrect’ dates are actually widgets, and they’re correct (at the club end).

 

So how were they correct for 2 instances and back to wildly incorrect again?

 

Yes, which makes it seem to me as though it is a GMT / UTC coordination issue between the two interfaces. To use my Binman's logic.

I thought the same thing but can’t work out why it’s getting 9th of September for an August match.

 

I get the time-difference thing, but it's conjuring up day/dates that don't actually exist.

 

I’ve no idea. But considering the linked article is spot on, it’s clearly the BBS NewsBot with the issue. I don’t think it gets on with the current iteration of the club website.
