Is it worth pointing out that he was involved in as many clean sheets in 19 appearances for Exeter, than we managed all of last season.

Wouldn’t surprise me as a short term fix to replacing Roberts. I’m not sure how true it is but he’s turned down a League 2 side, thought to be Cambridge, so may well have something lined up.

Not for me. Never especially speedy. We need pace and aerial power. I’m not sure if Angus could ever provide that but certainly won’t now.

No slight on him just not the profile for us imo

I would be happy with him coming back, met him in Starbucks in Wakefield after he joined Hull, great bloke, had nothing but love for Barnsley.

Looks like a short term deal till January if it comes off.

I don’t see an issue with it as a short term signing to see how he goes. Kind of a no lose situation for both him and us. His lack of games and preseason isn’t ideal though

I think he was sat in Hospitality at last nights game. I’m not sure if that’s what has sparked the rumours or if that gives merit to the rumours.

Wouldn't be my first choice given his lack of pre season and previous illness issues others have already mentioned.

Must be better, younger options out there that offer more of what we need.

As others have said, we could do with some pace back there

At the end of the day we should already have signed a CH earlier in the summer.
That should've been a priority given how bad we were defensively last season. No way should we be scratting around for one now.

Must be a young loan or L2 option we can get for a small fee. Must be some money available as we've been bidding for the winger from Cheltenham so they obviously have some budget to work with.

I’m don’t see any issue with this of true. Experienced, relatively low cost and would certainly shore up the back line

I remember the crowd cheering every time Angus McDonald made a last ditch tackle. I just thought his positional sense was that bad that he was forced to make so many last ditch tackles.

maybe he has improved since we had him last but I’d be very underwhelmed if we signed him.

I suppose he’s available, relatively low risk and experienced.
If he’s a short term contract until the player we want is available in January or the summer I’m ok with it.

What you’ve got to ask yourself is, is he a better option than MDG and Earl? It does mean we have 4 senior centre halves until Roberts is back.

Considering how Barrett played last night I don’t think he’s ready to step up, needs a loan to league 2 or national league. He was fine on the deck, with the ball at his feet, but he was too eager to engage and got outmuscled by both Norwood and Evans.
