Scored again. Didn’t have Max Watters leading scorer in a European competition on my bingo card

For the older chaps he was assisted by Willie Ferry ( presumably not that one)

And another. We will be using our option to extend at this rate.

    He's a good player
The BBS is a terrible judge of a player

Can Dundee Utd or anyone up there outside the top 2 afford his new found £million fee?

I always thought if he could get injury free with the right support he would be a good player for us. Shame the wingers have arrived after he left.

Indeed. I think you once said Sam Cosgrove was a good player and if I didn't agree then football wasn't for me.
So yes, the BBS is a terrible judge of a player.

    That’s correct. He’s a box player really.

I know I’ve said this before, but he (and the rest of the squad) just never looked fit last season. Watters always seemed to be carrying a niggle with his ankle all the time.

I defended him a lot, much to the chagrin of some on here. However, even I felt it was time to part ways this summer. He'd been here a fair while and for whatever reasons folk want to cite, it didn't work out. That's football.

From what we can gather, Conor wasn't keen and that's how it should be - the coach should be deciding who he wants or otherwise. Because he's the one who gets the boot when results aren't palatable.

Good luck to Max (he's just been subbed off).

I didn’t rate him personally. He had a few good attributes such as acceleration but his finishing wasn’t very good.

on top of that he was incredibly injury prone.

Would be great if he scores 20 plus this season for all concerned but I can’t see it.

Sometimes just doesn't work out for a player at a certain club, then it clicks when they go elsewhere. Has happened so many times.

    He was crap for us.

And it can happen in our favour as well, like with Adam Hammill.

Seems like a change of scenery and being in the last year of his contract is bringing the best out of him.
He's had plenty of opportunities with us under several head coaches but for whatever reason he just never seemed able to kick on.

You can extend that a little. Most football fans, pundits, coaches and players are terrible judges of players.

I think the good coaches are good at it.

I think between '94 and '97 the combination of Danny Wilson, Eric Winstanley and John Dennis were very good at it.

John was very keen on signing goals rather than players for specific positions . Early days but you can see a similar pattern with our signings this close season.
