One of the best defenders in the Champ. Had an absolute nightmare missing out on him but was never gonna stay in League 1.
He's played well for Coventry, solid defender at championship level, plus he scores a fair few headers.
I’d have to disagree mate, could see he had the makings of being a top footballer. 8 million now isn’t what it was pre Covid. Championship clubs don’t think twice spending that now.
I liked him but he definitely wasn’t the finished article I’d say £1.5m won’t bother us though £100,000 seems to be our ceiling
Prices are just insane now. Trying to see if someone will sign me for £200k. Yes I’m 37 but there’s a couple of good years left!
Agree it's an insane price, but it's probably on a par with today's inflated values. Very good player.
Didn't we have a deal in place if we went up. Sure we did and it was a loan with option to buy if we went up.
Absolutely daft take on things. We were in complete disarray when Duff came in, so it was obviously going to take him a while to get us up and running. We were just unfortunate that the teams which went up automatically both got insane points totals. Ipswich were probably one of the best sides ever to play at 3rd tier level, and they didn't even win the league.
Ipswich were, but Plymouth were just consistent, that's all. Something we weren't. If we'd had a better manager driving us, I reckon we wouldn't have dropped so many daft points - Bristol Rovers/Burton etc
You're entitled to your opinion mate, but personally I thought Duff worked wonders to even have us in contention. Bristol Rovers - we missed several good chances to win. Burton - we were robbed by another absurd refereeing decision. Don't really see what Duff could have done to change things.
To be fair, that was a massive factor that the referees seemed to be on a vendetta against us that season, so there was that.
